The New Wave is here!
March 4, 2012 • By Dr. Kenneth R. Sesley
It has been said that every hundred years or so, God desires to pour out a huge wave of glory somewhere in the earth. Some of these waves, such as Pentecost in 30 a.d. at the birth of the church and Azusa Street in 1906 have affected the entire world to some degree.
Near the end of the Azusa Street revival, the lead minister of the revival -William Seymour - prophesied that in 100 years that there would come to the earth a greater outpouring of God's Spirit than the Azusa Street Revival. This revival included visible displays of God's Shekina or glory inside of their services as a cloud, like at the dedication of Salomon's Temple and visible displays on their building as fire that was visible for miles! Several times the fire department was called to their building to put out a fire, but it was God's glory.
Also, the late great Apostle of faith, Smith's Wigglesworth, prophesied four revivals:
1. After World War II a wave of God's healing power would come to America. That wave, known as the Healing Revival, occurred from 1946 - 1958 led by Oral Roberts, Jack Coe and Gordon Lindsey.
2. Then following that, there would be a wave that brought the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, to so-called mainline denominational churches. This was known as the Charismatic Revival of the late 1960's and early 70's which was led by David Duplises (who by the way had Smith Wigglesworth prophesy to him that he would be used by God in this manner).
3. The third wave that Smith's Wigglesworth saw was where believers would fill huge buildings and come to be taught the bible, especially in the area of faith and healing. This became known as the Word of Faith Revival which was led by Kenneth E. Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Fred Price and others.
4. The fourth wave that Smith's Wigglesworth saw was a wave that was larger than all three of the other waves combined! In this wave, Smith saw everything that was in these first three waves in the fourth wave, along with much much more! He saw unprecedented miracles and demonstrations of God's presence and power in our church services and outside in the communities and neighborhoods. This wave's purpose is to bring in the last great harvest before the end of the church age. This is the same thing that William Seymour saw in what has now become known as the 100 year prophecy.
Last week, in our service I did what I call a one shot wonder, as a sermon along these lines. Wow, we saw God's glory fall like I have never seen it before! So I began to search out what the prophets were saying. What many are saying is that February of 2012 is the beginning of that outpouring. I believe that! But I also believe that the body of Christ here in America, is going to have to accelerate our prayer effort and the amount of time that we pray. Especially in the area of praying in the Spirit. Sometimes we devote too much time with natural things, rather than doing what the bible says and praying without ceasing. It's time to put aside any and everything that holds us back from flowing with the Holy Spirit and tapping into the wave of glory that is hitting the earth at this time.
I believe a prophecy that Dr. Ed Dufresne gave about 15 years ago, in which the Lord told him to move back to Southern California because there is coming to America a wave of glory that would begin in So Cal, move up from So Cal to No Cal and Washington and then race across America and then all around the world. Get ready because I believe that this prophesy is about to be fulfilled starting here in Southern California. The wave is both coming, and it is already here, beginning in Southern California!
